Gleason’s Gym is the oldest active boxing gym in the USA. We have been open since 1937, and are currently in our fourth home, in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge, in the area now affectionately known as DUMBO.
The gym is 13,000 square feet, with 14 feet ceilings. There are 15 windows, which allow natural and direct sunlight daily. The windows are 80 inches tall by 40 inches wide. Florescent lighting is available at all other times. The gym walls are painted red with black columns and gray floors. There are numerous electrical outlets.
There are 4 full size boxing rings, and one full size wrestling ring. There are a number of hanging bags in various sizes, double end bags and uppercut bags. A selection of cardio equipment is also available including treadmills, steppers and stationery bikes. We have an assortment of free weights.
Trainers and fighters, both male and female, are also available for consultation or extra work. Our specialists include World champion boxing trainers, a World Champion Kick boxing trainer and a World Champion Muay Thai Boxing trainer.
We have a variety of office suites available. These include executive workplaces and traditional boxing offices complete with fantastic collections of boxing memorabilia you will not find anywhere else in the World! The offices can also double up as private changing or make up rooms.
Both Male and Female locker rooms are on the premises and include lockers, benches and showers.
The gym is on the ground level. The loading dock is available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
The gym is a habitual haunt for all the media given our history and current list of Champions. Therefore both our members and staff are used to your routine and are more than happy to deal with your requests. You will have free movement around the gym and the members will move out of your area or will remain in the background if you desire.
There are very few restrictions when shooting at Gleason’s Gym.
CHARGES AND OPENING HOURS
The gym is available for location work 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The normal hours of operation are as follows:

Monday to Friday
5:00am – 10:00pm

Saturday & Sunday
6:00am – 6:00pm
Gleason’s is available for still and video shoots while the gym is open, or if you prefer we can close. The rates for shoots are as follows and include a member of Gleason’s personnel to be on the premises at all time during the shoot.
WHILE GYM IS OPEN

$400 per hour
TO CLOSE GYM
$10,000 per 10-hour day. Each additional hour charged at $800.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES
$100 per hour when the gym is not open normal hours (Before 8:00am or after 6:00pm on Saturday or Sunday and Before 5:00am or after 10:00pm Monday through Friday)
EQUIPMENT HIRE
New equipment can be purchased, our brand of choice is Everlast – a list of costs is available on request. Used equipment is supplied at no charge to shoots on Gleason’s premises. Used equipment is also available for rent for use at other locations.
