WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced over the weekend that he would join the attendees and other dignitaries at this year’s 20th Anniversary Gleason’s Gym Boxing Fantasy Camp in Atlantic City in August. Gleason’s Gym owner Bruce Silverglade added that the WBC President would bring former WBC champions along as his guests; names will be released subsequently.
Bruce said this was wonderful news, truly fitting for this year’s platinum anniversary camp. “Having Mauricio, who’s such a pillar to boxing throughout the world, and someone who’s helped so many people is one of the highest honors. It’s quite humbling,” said Bruce. “Boxing may be the only sport where you train right next to world champions and top contenders, and that’s often true at Gleason’s. And, for the Fantasy Camp, we guarantee it for four straight days,“ he continued.
Mike Tyson was one of many great champions who used the fully-immersive training-camp experience to give himself a competitive edge. He was not the first, though, and before were greats like Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali.
Gleason's Gym's Fantasy Camp has always been set up to replicate the training atmosphere and camaraderie of old-school camps - right down to the world champions and other accomplished pro's who become your training staff. It's a Gleason's tradition we couldn't be more proud of. And we have had many years of happy camps and hundreds of happy campers. This year, we add to the experience the historic and scenic Atlantic City - not only beautiful beaches and the boardwalk but also, the home to some of boxing's biggest fights.

THE BOXING CAMP
If you like baseball you just can’t go to Yankee Stadium and train with the Yankees, nor can you go to Madison Square Garden and shoot hoops with the Knicks.
Boxing is the only sport where you may actually be training right next to a world champion or top contender, certainly that’s sometimes true at Gleason’s Gym. For the Fantasy Camp, we’re guaranteeing that same opportunity for four action-packed days.
The camp will include intensive boxing discussions, training sessions, sparring sessions and training drills. At the end of the camp you will have the chance to showcase your new skills in our Fantasy Camp sparring show. The camp will give you the chance to learn from world-class trainers, Hall of Fame boxers and world champions both past and present.
Professional and amateur sparring partners will also be available to help with your training. Men, women and children are all welcome.
No previous boxing experience is necessary. All skill levels, from beginner to veteran, will be present at the camp.
